This page explains what we use data and artificial intelligence (AI) for, and what we do not use it for. We only list what we actually do.
What we use AI for
- Recognising property posts — New posts appear daily in our own Facebook rental groups. Google Gemini helps us extract the city, rent, property type and number of rooms, so we can match the listing to the right rental alerts.
- Signs of fraud — The same analysis looks for features that often come with fake listings. A person decides: every listing from the groups is approved manually before an alert is sent about it.
- Suggesting a description — Landlords can have AI suggest listing text based on the details they enter. The landlord checks the text and is responsible for it.
What we do not use AI for
- We do not assess, rank or select tenants.
- We do not take decisions about people based solely on automated processing.
- We do not send the content of responses from people looking for a home to an AI service.
Rental market figures
We do not publish our own averages or letting times as long as we cannot back them up properly. To find out the maximum rent for a property under the Dutch points system, use our rent calculator. For national figures on rents and rent increases we refer to Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and the Rent Tribunal (Huurcommissie).
