Advertising policy
Huurwoning Hub is free for people looking for a home. There is no subscription, you do not need an account, and responding to a listing costs nothing. This page explains where the money comes from instead.
What a partner link is
Some pages link to companies where you can arrange things that come with moving house. If you follow such a link and sign up for something, we receive a fee from that company. This is called a partner link or affiliate link.
The price does not change for you. You pay exactly what you would have paid going there directly.
How to recognise them
Every block containing partner links is labelled as such, right where it appears rather than in small print at the bottom. If we place a partner link in a social media post, the word “Advertentie” (advertisement) appears in the first line. We do not hide this anywhere.
What we never earn money on
- Responding to a listing. That is and remains free. Our alert points to the original advertisement; you respond there yourself, directly to the landlord.
- Services to landlords. We do not screen tenants, compile candidate lists or act on a landlord’s behalf. That is a deliberate choice: a party serving both tenant and landlord while charging either of them is acting as a two-sided broker, which is prohibited in the Netherlands.
- Paid placement. No party ranks higher by paying more, and we do not accept advertising from landlords or brokers wanting to promote listings.
Our editorial content is independent
Our articles on tenancy law, rent prices, service charges and the Dutch housing valuation system are written without involvement from any partner. A partner cannot pay for a mention in an article, and cannot have an article changed or removed.
We do not advise on insurance or energy contracts and do not recommend any specific financial product. Where we link to such parties, it is a referral: you complete everything on that provider’s own site, not on ours.
Cookies on partner links
When you follow a partner link, that party places a cookie so it can establish that you came via us. That cookie exists purely to attribute the fee; we do not use it to build a profile of you. Read more in our cookie policy and our privacy policy.
